Five Supplier Networks, 40 Years of Heritage: Rebuilding Ready Press for B2B Print & Promo

A 40-year family print shop outgrew WooCommerce. We built a Next.js 16 storefront with a serverless Postgres catalogue syncing five supplier APIs, quote-first pricing protection, and 100% legacy URL redirects.

> THE PROBLEM

Ready Press Print Ltd is a 40-year family-owned commercial printing and signage business based in Kelston, West Auckland ("The Girls", Maxine Cooper and team). They operate offset presses, digital printing, and full in-house finishing.

Their legacy WordPress/WooCommerce site couldn't handle their expanded promotional products offerings. Catalogue items lived across five separate supplier API feeds (Trends, AS Colour, Cloke, Fashionbiz [4 brands], and Aussie Pacific), each with distinct formats, thousands of variants, and live inventory streams.

WooCommerce choked on large multi-supplier syncs, resulting in stale stock data, slow page speeds, and internal wholesale prices leaking into public view. On top of that, decades of organic search rankings on legacy product URLs were at risk if a migration wasn't handled with surgical care.

> WHAT WE BUILT

We built a custom Next.js 16 (App Router, Turbopack) application with TypeScript, React 19, and Tailwind CSS v4 deployed on Netlify, backed by a serverless Neon PostgreSQL database.

An automated supplier sync engine runs nightly via GitHub Actions (`.github/workflows/supplier-sync.yml`), pulling products from all five supplier feeds into a unified schema while stripping internal wholesale buy prices server-side before rendering.

The customer workflow is optimized for quote-first B2B ordering, routing enquiries through a rate-limited Resend email pipeline with direct customer reply-to headers. We mapped 100% of legacy WordPress `/product/<slug>` URLs to 301 redirects pointing to their new catalogue categories and anchors.

> THE RESULTS

  • Five major supplier API feeds (Trends, AS Colour, Cloke, Fashionbiz, Aussie Pacific) unified into one live catalogue
  • Automated nightly sync via GitHub Actions into serverless Neon Postgres with zero manual data entry
  • 100% of legacy WordPress URLs 301-redirected, carrying over 40 years of search equity
  • Wholesale buy prices protected server-side with quote-first enquiry routing via Resend
  • Sub-second page loads powered by Next.js 16 App Router caching (`unstable_cache`) on Netlify
  • Family brand identity ("We're The Girls") preserved alongside modern enterprise B2B promo capabilities

Five data formats, one modern B2B storefront. Thousands of promotional items from five separate supplier APIs sync into a single Postgres catalogue. Buyers browse one fast, cohesive site while wholesale pricing stays strictly internal.

"The new platform handles our huge product selection effortlessly. Our customers can browse thousands of promotional items, and our team gets pre-scoped quote enquiries delivered straight to our inbox."
